Primavera® is the top provider of cloud on-premise Enterprise Project Portfolio Management (EPPM) solutions. It began as an individual firm called as Primavera® Systems in 1993, but was purchased by Oracle in 2008. Oracle Primavera® is a complete suite of products that help manage projects over their entire lifecycles. All the products can be used to manage risk versus reward, budget and resourcing.
Project Management professionals makeuse of this term to identify methods of analyzing and managing a group of current or proposed projects that operate as per variegated key characteristics. Under Portfolio Management, the main objective is the sequencing of proposed projects to achieve the organization’s overall goals. Such goals are usually expressed in terms of business strategy goals, technical strategy goals and hard economic measures, as per constraints of external real-world factors and management.
Program Management relates to coordination and prioritization of resources across projects. Resources should be utilized in a way that minimizes the overall costs and manages links between the projects and program risks. Program Management always operates at a level higher than individual projects.
Portfolio management is offered by P6 PPM and P6 EPPM, which can group projects into "portfolios". However, this is just a mechanism to simplify access to specific groups of projects. A portfolio can be defined as one having projects within a specific programme as well, for which reports can be produced.
There is significant confusion in the market place about these two Oracle products. Oracle P6 Professional can be used as a standalone application in order to access a locally installed database, which could be Oracle XE or Microsoft SQL Server Express. It can easily access a central database and also be used as a multi-user system, where data is to be shared with others.

On the other hand, Primavera® P6 EPPM is a web browser-based enterprise-wide project management system focusing on the handling of a wide range of roles, ranging from executives to team members. Although based on the P6 Professional system, it is much more focused around the enterprise as a whole, as it offers special capabilities such as timesheets (also usable with P6 Professional), team member updating tools and also integrated reporting. Integrated reporting is possible through Oracle’s Business Intelligence Publisher and P6 Analytics.
Oracle Primavera® P6 is used not just by Project Planners, but also by Project Managers, Schedulers, and engineers, as well as others involved in project planning, reporting and management. Oracle Primavera® Project Management provides the best solutions to manage the entire project portfolio lifecycle. Learning the software lands better job prospects, thereby helping accelerate your career graph.
No. Oracle Projects are categorized under the Oracle E-Business Suite (EBS). Undoubtedly, Primavera® Gateway can be used to integrate the two, but the domains & purposes are different. Both do integrate well to offer superior coordination and analytics.
You need at least 4 GB RAM in your computer to run Primavera® P6. Although, it is recommended that you increase the memory to 6 GB in order to avoid problems of speed or connectivity.
Yes, this is certainly possible. The Primavera® Gateway is available with a connector for SAP as standard, and also has connectors for other ERP systems.
Assessments, mock tests, assignments and multiple practice questions go a long way to ensure that our students ace the exam in the very first attempt. You can project your knowledge and areas of improvement.

Mock tests are time-based and are available on the Learning Management System (LMS). At the end of each test, the LMS provides students correct answers and explanations. In addition, a detailed report shows complete analysis of your proficiency as well as important areas of development, which help improve your performance.
